Meet Our Roadrunner Family

Welcome to Roadrunner Foods, welcome to our family. We are a family-owned and operated catering company servicing the greater Georgian Bay area for over 25 years. When we talk about bringing our family to yours we are referring to our amazing team, a combination of many families that have been monumental in the success of Roadrunner Foods. Together, we are continuously striving to be better than we were yesterday, while providing an amazing culinary experience no matter the event or the location.

 

Roadrunner Foods is a multi-venue and fully mobile catering company that employs upwards of 50 staff in peak season. Our road to success began in 1996 when our fearless leaders, Don and Susan Hickling, purchased a 45-foot mobile kitchen specializing in event catering. At that time, a young family seeking more possibility jumped at the opportunity to work side by side in providing quality food at a fair price.  In our home, the kitchen table is where we spent a lot of time together talking, celebrating and of course enjoying a great meal. This is something that founders Don and Susan felt they could achieve; bringing that element of food and family to people across Ontario. 

 
At the time of purchase, Roadrunner Foods had 3 events booked: Fergus Highland Games, Outdoor Farm Show and the International Plowing Match. From day one, Susan picked up the phone and called all of the festivals and event organizers across Ontario. Roadrunner Foods started to book up quickly, and in no time at all went from 3 events, to 15, to 30 events the following year. After the second year, Susan no longer had to reach out as the phone rang off the hook. Bookings were consistent, leading to 55 events a year from May until the end of October.
 
Roadrunner has always been a family affair. Roadrunner Foods started off with Don and Sue and their children Amanda and Tyler. Close friends and family have been our recipe for growth and prosperity. In 2004, we sold our first mobile kitchen and focused more on gourmet cafeteria and fine dining. We now proudly employ Red Seal chefs and a full culinary team.
 
Throughout our company’s journey and evolution, our recipe to success has remained the same. Providing great food, with great people. Thank you for joining our family, we hope to serve you soon.
